I'm not one for alt/pop r&b, but MUANH's got me in a chokehold. A few weeks after discovering her mind-altering "the dream", it is time for more of that lush and hypnotic sound.
"The song is a warm, 80s-tinted soft-pop song for the person who keeps it cool while quietly burning out - which I started producing in my bedroom two years ago," the German singer/songwriter elaborates.
To me, MUANH sounds as if Frank Ocean and Jhené Aiko had a child, but that child went back in time and made music in the 80s. What I love the most about "baby please" is the slight Bon Iver-like melancholy and the fact that it sounds both old and contemporary. Ahh, all the feels!
