Comes in Two

I couldn't think of my very-first feature from Asia than Munan's "Comes in Two". Yeah, my Southeast Asia journey across a few countries began this weekend and I couldn't be more excited for what's ahead. A new chapter in life!

Writing this from the buzzling Canggu and while it's not how I remember it from 5 years ago, nothing beats a sunset and a surf session followed by a Bintang.

Back to what's important! Munan's exciting 5-track EP Tranquility which dropped a few weeks ago. This is not the first time I've featured the South Korean-Australian artist and his captivating blend of indie, funk and mellow psychedelia.

The EP is a heartfelt gift, featuring a curated selection of five meticulously crafted songs that represent a year of deep musical exploration and self-reflection. Peter discovered solace in the process of recording and composing within the cozy confines of his home studio, forging a profound and intimate connection with listeners across the globe.

I absolutely love the carelessness exhaling out of opener "Comes in Two". A perfect soundtrack to how I feel right now. A short, yet blissful moment in life.

"I find it quite therapeutic recording by myself, especially after years of collaborating and working with many other musicians. I'm not saying that's a bad thing to collaborate with others, but people should try finishing a song by themselves. The challenge is fun. I did however write some of the songs with my friends, but it wasn't really planned. We didn't really have a direction in mind but that spontaneity of the songs without a direction made it a lot of fun as well.", he elaborates.
