Just a few weeks after Mychelle's highly anticipated debut album Good Day, we're graced with a brand new remix of her song "Seasons" featuring Jamaican artist Protoje. The original captures the kind of quiet self-reflection that defines much of the record, a feeling that's further enhanced in this new version. “After finishing the original, I felt it needed a new perspective,” Mychelle elaborates. “I can’t believe Protoje agreed to jump on it. It’s such an honour to have him on ‘Seasons.’ The vibe he brought to the song… he gave it a new life.

I like how effortlessly his verse fits into the foundations of the track, adding a layer of warmth to the already soothing composition, just in time for summer. Protoje is a leading voice in the Reggae revival, known for fusing roots reggae with hip-hop, soul, and jazz. He broke out with his 2011 debut The Seven Year Itch, followed by acclaimed albums like The 8 Year Affair, Ancient Future, and A Matter of Time, which earned a Grammy nomination.

I appreciate the extra bits and pieces that artists share around album drops, and I feel that Good Day could be one of the top albums of 2025 contenders. Released via FAMM (home of Jorja Smith & Maverick Sabre), the album is a full-on experience offering a glimpse into the world of the British artist.
