My introduction to Nate Smith’s gorgeous LIVE ACTION album last year opened the door to more of his music to land on Stereofox, and his latest deluxe edition includes yet another gem "EARLY AUTUMN".
LIVE ACTION is hands down one of the most fascinating jazz albums that came out last year. As we enter the new year, Nate Smith has unveiled a deluxe version that's come with 5 new tracks - including my favorite out of the bunch "EARLY AUTUMN". Here, the mood is subdued, his signature rhythm-style is hushed, thus creating a dreamy soundscape led by the melodic arrangements. Even the brass gently creeps alongside the synths, adding a soft, organic warmth that feels reflective.
