Sun, based on my personal observations, is really scarce in the Netherlands, that's why being waken up by a portion of electromagnetic radiation given off the Sun is always a cause for a small celebration. Now that this totally unimportant for you part of my day is out there, I can proceed with the band I wanted to share with you - Near Light (no pun intended)!
The first track of their self-titled EP kicks off with pleasant minute-long atmospheric build-up, which echoes away pretty quickly and is mercilessly replaced with quite dynamic and energetic fragment (my favourite). Crescendo-wise, the guys remind me of the post-rock titans Explosions in the Sky, but they definitely add an unique element and feeling to their music. Lucie, you must be proud!
