This stands out as one of my favorite releases of 2025 so far, and it’s only heightened my anticipation for Nubiyan Twist’s upcoming album Chasing Shadows.
Nubiyan Twist has evolved into one of the UK’s most forward-thinking and electrifying ensembles, pulling a variety of genres into the orbit of jazz music. On their latest release "Body Flows" with eniola, Afrobeat shines through the rhythm section as it's adorned with colorful percussive embellishments and fascinating grooves that'll have you dancing from start to finish. This is complemented by soulful vocals and bright saxophones to cement the track's hopeful energy, creating a radiant, feel-good anthem in the process.
