Nyota Parker creates music for those who live between worlds - culturally, emotionally & spiritually, offering soundtracks for reflection, resistance, and becoming.
Today, she opens up a brand-new portal into her hip-hop/neo-soul world with the release of her latest album, WHAT IS A TIMELINE?. With this project, Nyota makes peace with the idea that there’s actually no right or perfect timeline to follow. Instead, she chooses to settle into the present, appreciate the journey for what it is, and keep pushing forward.
If you're not sure where to start, “Overflow” has that slow, sensual groove, sharp pen work, and unmistakable style we discovered and instantly fell in love with. If you're a fan of A Tribe Called Quest, Erykah Badu, Saba, Common, and Lauryn Hill, this one will be right up your street.
