Under the Sun

"Under the Sun" is SUCH a breath of fresh air in today's hip-hop climate thanks to its conscious lyricism wrapped in superb penmanship.

Initially it was the glistening electronic textures sparsely laced in the instrumental that grabbed my attention, however - almost without effort Kenobi's authoritative vocal delivery takes center stage. The fact that his lyrics are presented with so much conviction gives the track a raw essence too along with the dusty, hard-hitting drums.

I try to draw several parallels between days of old and our modern times to illustrate nothing is really all that original. In the process, I try to put paranoid/conspiracy/fear ridden thoughts that (used to) plague myself, and currently plague others.
