Every time I see artists we've featured, love extensively, and highly respect join forces to create something together is one of the best things in this long but steady journey I call Stereofox. You know, it's like finding out two separate friends have randomly met and are vibing with each other.
Barcelona-based Italian duo PALLADIAN have been on our radar since 2020, and besides diligently following their growth and doing an interview together, they jumped on a few remixes for our label. PIANIKA, on the other hand, is one of my favourite new-er discoveries, and the Lune EP (and its follow-up remix release) have been some of my label highlights this past year. Lu had the chance to meet the New Zealand-born artist recently in Berlin, and he solidified - she's as cool in person as she is on Zoom. Extremely talented artist who can channel a special kind of energy through any electronic track and turn it into a source of zen. That's what she did with PALLADIAN's "Ataraxia".
"In remixes where there isn't a vocal to centre around, I try to find a stylistic middle ground between the original artists style, and my own style. In this remix of PALLADIAN's track, I focused on making the track smoother and more calming, while still holding the original essence and dance-floor-friendly energy," Michelle elaborates.
I listened to the tune while on my Sunday morning walk, and it felt magical. It feels as if it enhances the calm, yet extremely focused energy I get to experience while roaming the parks near my house at a time when most of the world's asleep.
This is the kind of sonic balm for a stressed-out soul.
