"Crying at Supermac's" by Pocket is the kind of track that is purposefully layered with gorgeous imperfections, making for such a fascinating listening experience.
From 2021 to 2022, we saw the career of Pocket go from nothing to playlisting from Flume, a remix for Charli XCX, and support slots from Fred again.. and Porter Robinson. His latest release is brimming with emotion thanks to the experimental vocals, plus the addition of rough and organic textures certainly complement the unorthodox rhythm section. This is already one of my favorite finds this week!
"Crying at Supermac’s’ is a song that came entirely from a period of hyper-focus. In my opinion, it’s as driving as it is delicate and is wholly contained in its own wee world. The title came from a time I cried in a Supermac’s. Just thought it was funny.”
