Powel's last piece of the puzzle to complete his dream-like EP 20 Years has finally arrived, and it takes us on a meditative journey that's adorned with glittery keys and spacey pads.
German producer Powel has been deeply shaped by his time in Berlin's underground electronic scene, and perhaps that environment has contributed to the introspective, almost solitary quality that often runs through his music. The title track "20 Years" from his new EP invites us to go inward thanks to the soundscape we're immersed in and the gentle progression leading the experience. The drums are delicately embellished with organic textures while the glowing synths - a feature that gives the track it's appeal - radiate a sense of tranquility across the mix. This is perfect for actively daydreaming or creating a mood to fill the room.
"These tracks are made over the time period of 14 years. I made it around my second release in 2012 and never managed to finish it completely, but I'm glad I finally did. I made 20 Years around 5 years ago before the 20th anniversary with my then girlfriend, now wife, trying to capture the deep love I'll always have for her", shares Powel.
