Getting into German rap is one of those things I definitely appreciate about my decade spent in Berlin. OGs like Sido, Samy Deluxe, or Azad (to name a few) have some of the most prolific tracks, if you vibe with the genre.

As we turn our attention to 2026, it's only right to spotlight some of the artists shaping today’s sound. I’ve been a fan of jakohitsdifferent's production for several years, so when I saw his name alongside Reddym, I knew one thing for certain - we were in for a ride. Jakob's work with Sorvina was amongst my favourite 2025 discoveries, not only because of his spacious sound, but because of how beautiful his drums sound. I mean, the guy is a fantastic drummer, and that's evident from the very first beat.

"Blick in die Ferne" is built on a smooth boom bap foundation, which feels like the perfect stage for Reddym's rapid-fire, yet smooth flow. I do appreciate the melodic vocals and the tasteful strings that serve as a bridge and add flavour to the whole composition.

The track is the opener and title track from their joint 5-track EP, so I highly recommend diving deeper into the rest of their vaporous tunes.

ps if I'm not mistaken, there's a Super Mario coin sample in the beat - dopest thing I've heard in a while
