Reiyo's voice just took me and didn't let me move until the song finished. I just don't know what to say - this type of voice that can instantly give you goosebumps and touch every corner of your soul is a true and very rare gift. Its depth and power in telling a story, evoking emotion, and flowing across any note and dynamic - wow! I'm not going to give out any more; you just have to experience this for yourself.

A self-described "ten-foot lesbian genie from the Bronx," Reiyo The Giant has always embraced imagination over convention. Drawing inspiration from literature, film, television, and music - from the writing of Zora Neale Hurston and Richard Bruce Nugent to the cinematic imagination of Guillermo del Toro, the storytelling of Michaela Coel and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and vocalists like Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Erykah Badu, and James Blake - Reiyo crafts songs rooted in metaphor, atmosphere, and emotional depth, inviting listeners not only to hear her story, but to find themselves within it.

She announces her debut album, Trick Of The Night, arriving November 6, alongside its haunting title track. Weaving soul, ambient, and electronic elements into a genre-defying sound that feels at once tender and untamed, Reiyo treats her voice as an instrument in its own right. Produced by Anwar Sawyer, “Trick of the Night” explores the uneasy space between instinct and uncertainty, pairing sparse piano and electronic textures with an intimate, conversational vocal that grows increasingly urgent as the song unfolds.

“I couldn’t decide what was intuition and what was fear,” Reiyo shares. “The lines became so blurred that eventually I was believing everything.”
