Reuben is a self-taught vocalist and guitar player who began writing music at age ten and producing at fourteen; it’s safe to say music was his first love. Talking about love, "Running" is based on the struggles around young romance as he shares feelings of a complex past relationship throughout his songwriting. His soulful, airy vocal performance carries both pain and tenderness particularly when distant harmonies float across Reuben's guitar arrangements. The guitar-led instrumental is bolstered by beefy drums, and as soon as they arrive they breathe life into the track and make it feel well-rounded.
