Since featuring 22 year old Salt Ashes in the Best of Brighton 2013 playlist on my blog musicalramble (shameless self plug) I've been eagerly awaiting her first real release. That comes in the form of début track 'Somebody' which is set for digital release on the January 17th.
The electro pop sounds of 'Somebody' lies somewhere between AlunaGeorge and basically anything by Kavinsky. The driving beat never feels like it's rushing as Salt Ashes (a.k.a Veiga Sanchez) awesome and powerful voice floats over the top in a style similar to Ellie Goulding.
Keep your eyes on this one. If 'Somebody' tells us anything, it's that Salt Ashes is only just getting started.
