Anybody who knows me can profess to my love of everything Icelandic. I think it started somewhere around Ágætis Byrjun (Sigur Rós), through Found Songs (Ólafur Arnalds) and culminated in a trip to Reykjavik earlier this year. Needless to say, it becomes starkly apparent where the beautiful inspiration for all this music comes from as soon as you set foot off the plane.

Most recent of my fascinations is Reykjavik trio Samaris, whose signing to One Little Indian Records compounded their rise to fame in 2012 before the release of their self titled 2013 début album, seeing them become internationally renowned. New track 'Ég Vildi Fegin Verða' roughly translates to 'Glad I Would Become' (cheers Google...) and is just incredible. I already can't wait to catch them live when they hit Brighton in May.
