Santa Rita - Cantabrico

Back in the days when I got my first proper musical encounters was really tough to find new music. The era of dial-up modems when having 50 downloaded songs was a lifetime achievement! Anyhow, I remember how meaningful was owning a CD and the countless times I was playing air guitar in my room while listening to grunge/alternative bands like Pearl Jam, Silverchair and Alice In Chains. Despite that I rarely listen to them nowadays, the affection to this type of sounds has always been rooted deeply inside. That is why I was very pleasantly surprised when I received a package in the mail box - High On The Seas, the new album of Santa Rita (if you want to win a free album check out the end of the post).

I've been spinning the release for the past 2 days and so far the composition that stuck in head is "Cantabrico" - a tormented track which takes us on a rebellious journey in the world of High On The Seas. In times when the majority of music I stumble upon is electronic bedroom producers or indie bands, the music of the 4 girls (Argentinian, Galician and 2 Catalans) came as a much needed escape to the world of raw alternative rock sound. The album was released just days ago by Aloud Music, the label behind another band we featured - Toundra.
