For many of us, semi-cycle's "MNBTS" will be the first time we'll be acquainted with bedroom pop paired with breakbeat in a manner as elegant as this.
Semi-Cycle is the groove-driven project of singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Kris Hansen. This is hands down one of the best songs I've come across this month as it tastefully bridges the gap between the bedroom and the club. The melodic section is smooth particularly with the soulful embellishment of the vocals, while the rhythm section is boomy and fast-paced. This offers a different kind of energy for us to bask in - something I've actually never heard before.
