Generally, my favorite kind of listening experiences tend to come from artists who blur the lines between genres, and that's exactly what we get on "What It Is".
Yes this is (conscious) hip hop, although the electronica influence is quite forthcoming due to the shimmering synths layered throughout the track. Within the verses, the artists also explore various flows which inevitably complement each other even though they're all introducing a different vibe.
