This is hands down my favorite release from Sonnee from his extensive catalogue! His latest release, "afters" with Malaki captures an isolating kind of moodiness while bringing us together to dance.
Based on the similar artworks from the recent singles, it's safe to say that we're getting a brand new project from Sonnee soon. For this track, the duo showcases their incredible synergy as Malaki delivers two uplifting, introspective verses that beautifully match the somewhat sullen mood of the instrumental. The synths are woozy and atmospheric but the drums pack a punch, especially towards the end when the track comes to life through layers of shimmering textures and explosive bass energy.
