It has been a good day for music. Texas-based label SVNSET WAVES also known as people-who-always-release-solid-music just dropped their 6th annual summer compilation SVMMER SVN and things sound stellar.
Brace yourself for a number of features, but we're kicking off with Stan Forebee's experimental electronica "Unwritten". While I first "got to know" Stan's music as mostly chillhop, this is definitely quite the unconventional beat structure. Utilizing those perfectly chopped female vocals and a breezy beat vibe, the track feels like a breath of fresh air on a stale summer day.
As the track slowly fades away and those vocals come into the light... it all sounds like perfection. Also, those pen scratching sounds in the intro... c'mon. Way too good.
