Piano Day is an annual worldwide celebration created by a group of like-minded people around German composer/pianist Nils Frahm.

It takes place on the 88th day of the year (in 2016 it was March 28th), because of the 88 keys in the instrument. For this reason, several recordings and events were created, and piano players from all over the world, young and old, professional and amateur, presented new pieces for the occasion. One of the most compelling was an improvisation by Japanese composer Suzuo; a nostalgic, heart-warming piece, with a few effects and ambient touches to boot.

It's fairly minimalistic, but its emotional power is undeniable.
