On The Kount's "Great Expectations" with Noam, the pair have crafted a psychedelic brand of neo-soul that blurs the line between otherworldly and sultry.
This marks the 2nd single from the pair's upcoming collaborative EP, 4th World, and, given their track record together, it is bound to be something sonically adventurous. For the most part, "Great Expectations" possesses a minimal backdrop that carries the trippy yet uplifting vocals of Noam in the foreground. When all of the instrumentation rushes in to fill the mix towards the second half, we're acquainted with a warm, groovy listening experience led by guitars and a slick rhythm section. The fact that it's short only adds to its replay value, leaving you wanting to dive back in the moment it ends.
