The latest release from The Offline, "Marées" takes us back in time sonically and thematically, as it's inspired by analogue photographs taken in Biarritz.

What I love about The Offline is that his sound is consistent and reliable, and it radiates with the same kind of vintage warmth sampled by hip-hop artists on jazz and funk records. "Marées" offers this and more, but ironically in quite a different manner. This release is quite minimal and is adorned with psychedelic surf guitars, thus delivering quite a mellow vibe that actually blends in with any moment. The jazz-funk influences really shine through thanks to the fascinating rhythm section that keeps the progression exciting with the surprising fills that pop up.
