Thundercat dropped two new singles this week, and the one that especially caught my ear is the multi-colored, romance-driven "I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time."

We didn't receive any original music from the Los Angeles icon last year as he went on an quite impressive feature run. The aesthetic similarities between "I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time" and "Children of the Baked Potatoes" certainly suggest the arrival of an album. What I loved about the former was the vibrant synths floating across the mix, seamlessly complementing his angelic vocals to create a lush, atmospheric appeal. The uplifting instrumental is contrasted by moody and somewhat dejected lyricism, adding emotional weight to this listening experience.
