Yesterday Tom Misch released his Quarantine Sessions - 5 wonderful covers and 3 previously unreleased tracks that altogether make a damn good reason to love music. Been a fan of the UK guitarist, singer, and producer since the early days of Stereofox, but even though years go by, he constantly amazes me. Definitely, someone who is not sitting still when it comes to his sound.

The selection features covers of Nirvana, Solange, James Blake, and Crystal Waters and one listen will tell you about his versatility as an artist given the different essence of each original.

I’ve always been able to make feel-good music regardless of whether I’m feeling good.” shares Tom. “Perhaps that’s set me in good stead for where we are now.

I chose to highlight his re-imagination of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" because... I simply fell in love with it. The toned-down and bluesy version carries such a melancholic vibe, it's hard not to get lost in it. That being said, the sound of his guitar carries the raw energy of the original, which I also absolutely admire.

The beautiful hand-painted artwork is a scene from the actual session created by Oliver Macdonald Oulds. A perfect fit if you ask me.
