This duo from San Francisco has been going since 2002. Often compared to the likes of The Black Keys and The White stripes, they can definitely be classed equally good. Combining roar guitar riffs with a bluesy-folk touch making them sound authentic and easily loved.
They released their latest album, The Bloom and the Blight, last year and are currently touring Europe and the US. The album seems to me more mature. It contains hard rocking pieces as well as the ballad type folk song. "Halycon Days" is the first track on the latest album. It's neatly produced, but doesn't loose the rough edge. Judge for yourself and maybe go and check them out soon. I know I will be, as they are also coming to the lovely northern city of Groningen soon!
