I suspect we're getting a new project from Tycho this year, and one of the tracks in the rollout is the progressive, immersive release "Forge".
From the first few moments we're acquainted with "Forge", Tycho's signature sound envelops us in a warm haze of shimmering guitars. It's no surprise to hear that it shares a sonic connection with his highly praised Epoch album. Here, subtle pads float in the backdrop while fierce guitar arrangements take center stage and guide the emotive direction of the experience. The live drums are pleasantly beefy and anchor the rich soundscapes with a sturdy force. I really love that it's tough to categorize this in a specific genre as Tycho pulls from a variety of influences here.
