I was in need of something fresh and sugary this Friday; it has been a weird day, and this next remedy felt sublime. We've been keeping an eye on LA-based producer URCHN for a while now, so it's great to see him back on the Stereofox feed. Max teamed up with keyboardist Casey, best known for his work with Oliver Tree, to deliver a sun-drenched, groove-laden new single titled "Don't Cry For Love" (released via Friends of Friends).
This groovy heaven is marking the first taste of their upcoming collaborative EP Sinkers scheduled for release on June 20h and it sets the tone with a vibrant blend of funky rhythms, tight vocal chops, and laid-back and cool infectious energy.
The vocal chops, subtly manipulated and rhythmically layered, add a playful edge that keeps the groove alive throughout. If that's the first taste of Sinkers, then I can't wait for what's next.
