One of the most anticipated albums on our 2025 list, Venna's MALIK arrived hours ago and while I am not surprised of the lengths of Venna's talent and the fact that the record is absolutely marvellous, I'll say - the whole experience is a lot more versatile than I thought it would be.
We've been keeping a close eye on the whole experience so far, covering (almost) every single that's been released so far, starting with "Prophet" and ending with "Myself" featuring Jorja Smith.
Today's highlight is MALIK's closing composition "Eternal Reflections", featuring frequent collaborator and drum genius Yussef Dayes. The line-up of The Yussef Dayes Experience consists of some of the most brilliant musicians of our days, so 2 of them working together on this tune is a recipe for success.
True to its title the song sets the ground for a lonesome and introspective session to reflect on whatever is going on in your life. It's beautifully meditative, but also it pushes the boundaries to be honest to yourself and face whatever is hiding in the closet.
