In preparation for their new album, I have been going through a bit of a Grizzly Bear phase, so you can imagine my joy when I discovered beloved Wes Swing, who has a similar vibe, but a little less indie and a lot more folk! I have been trying to pinpoint who he reminds me of, and I have concluded he is a mixture of Grizzly Bear, Tom Rosenthal and Andrew Bird, so if you are looking for some top-notch indie folk, then look no further!
Wes Swing is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist based in Virginia and the song that I am featuring today from him is "Mirrors"; an intimate and incredibly captivating track.
June 2nd marks the release of his full-length album And The Heart, which Wes has described as being about "darkness and light, sadness and joy, and looking for beauty and connection". So, if you want to be whisked away to a mystical land that may only exist in tales, then the album deserves a listen!
