What initially grabbed my attention about Yuna's latest release, "wasteland" was the glossy guitar arrangements and the calming atmosphere that the instrumental welcomes us to.
This release is part of Yuna's upcoming new project The Valour Hour, which has so far been a project where she showcases her impressive sonic range. On "wasteland", she acquaints us with her iconic style of r&b. The vocals are like a feather gently floating in the wind, light and airy, with a smooth, sultry feel throughout the chorus. I did find the hushed presence of the drums quite interesting too, it seems like this leaves more room for the glistening guitars to breathe and for her vocals to shine in the foreground.
