This next tune caught me off guard. If you've been following us for some time, you may remember Berlin-based duod Ducks! and their upbeat, dance-like indie/electro sound. That was what I was expecting when I saw "Sit Tight" - their collaboration with New Zealand-born, Berlin-based Yvois and Ben Osborn. Boy, was I wrong.
"Sit Tight" is straight up goosebumps giving lo-fi / downtempo beat with super build up and climax to die for. A track Four Tet, Tourist, and Bonobo would be proud of.
In addition, motion designer Nadin Heinke directed and 3D-animated the accompanying music video, in which a female swimmer explores a deep sea space to find surreal and futuristic underwater objects and creatures. Heinke’s images of travel through a mental landscape emphasise the song’s contemplative qualities.
