With his latest album, Love is the New Gangsta, Atlanta native 6LACK has given us one of the hottest and most honest hip-hop albums of the year.
Like many of us, my first introduction to 6LACK (pronounced black) was through the track "PRBLMS", and it's beautiful to see how far he has come since then. Love is the New Gangsta is his 4th studio album, with one of the most fascinating tracks being "RUNNING LATE FREESTYLE" with Mereba - which is a bit of an unexpected feature. Like wind moving alongside fire, the synergy between the pair is absolutely impressive as 6LACK delivers a chilling yet fierce freestyle while Mereba offers a dreamy aesthetic with her vocals. I certainly can't neglect to mention the glossy piano arrangements that add to the charming nature of the whole experience.
