Lofi heads, Dilla fans, people who love the chill type of life - gather around and let me tell you the story of 7apes.

Salomon Appiah is one of those people who preserves what made lofi hip hop lofi hip hop. With early stints in trip-hop, UK electro, jazz, reggae and even heavy metal bands, plus years spent producing and songwriting for other artists, the Berlin-based artist has developed a sound that’s as eclectic as the city he calls home. Think lush drum patterns, sloppy bass lines, jazzy chord progressions, and futuristic synths, all held together by a deep-rooted sense of rhythm. His African heritage runs through the sample-heavy, groove-led productions, always chasing that elusive sweet spot where everything just feels right.

Today we celebrate the news of his upcoming long-awaited second studio album, The Connoisseur, with "Polaroid". The source of my happiness today. Been head-bopping to this since 6AM, watching the world wake up from my balcony and soaking in the September sun rays.

This is the perfect fit for our chill beats playlist.
