Well, after u and me, it's time to review the last piece of the gnash puzzle - his newest album us.

After having the chance to "be part" of gnash's music/personal journey and seeing how some patterns re-occur (like that magical 7 tracks number), it's really nice to experience the gradual change of sound from u to us. Another thing which I realized was the fact that he never does a collaboration with someone twice. The first release is predominantly gnash-created, while me is quite the opposite. That being said, all of the artists names appearing in us are new. Maybe that's a silly observation, but it felt somehow note-worthy.

This record is way more acoustic-driven, kicking off with an amazing cover of Bright Eyes' "first day of my life", which automatically (at least for me) makes it even more personal. That and gnash's distinctive voice almost make me feel part of the whole artist experience.

Actually, I discovered the album long ago when I featured his collaboration with Olivia Obrien "i love you, i hate you" December last year, but the "most favourite track" title keeps changing with time. Ever since then I've tried to put a meaning behind everything and after not sure how many listens, I think I could just wrap this up with lyrics from the last us track "u just can't be replaced".

I tried to fill the space…
I can’t forget your face
come home, don’t fade away
You just can’t be replaced.

Stay up to date.
