Although a little old (2013), this album needs love, attention and everything good in the world.

After August is an instrumental jazz album with sleek hip hop beats by Russian producer Mr.KiD. A contrasting name to the vintage feels of his album. You’ll know what I mean after you've listened to him.

Classical looped piano playing is the running theme of After August.  The most impressive thing with this amazing album is the way very simple looped hip hop beats are used to soften, intensify or change the direction of the tracks. It’s hip hop beautifully complimenting instrumental Jazz.

Top tracks? "Feelingy", "Don’t forget me", "Dance with me"!

"Dance with me" - a slow gradual build up, getting increasingly louder. The continuous looped piano and soft drumming are encompassed with a dark gloomy tinge, preparing you for a tasteful surprise.

"Feelingy" is where he really shows off his impressive softsynth skills. It’s a more brooding, eerie and slower version of Nina Simone’s "Feeling good". The entire track with its' added instruments and Simone's high pitched voice has a somewhat tribal aura feel to it.

"Don’t forget me" is a track which really oozes yearning and the need of not wanting to be forgotten. The dark undertones created by the piano feel almost haunting; yet this is softened by the accompanied the hip hop beats.

Beautiful.
