You can always tell when a band comes from the UK, and it's not only by the accent that I love so much, they just have that special quality...and in that case - an awesome name!
When Basement called it quits last year I was heartbroken, but it turns out that Hot Damn are here to help! Don't get me wrong, this young pop punk band is definitely not a rip off. The lads have their own style which is full of melody and emotions and brings to mind bands like Transit as well.
Hot Damn are from South Wales, UK. The band released its latest record called Sleep Alone on the 26th of March through We Are Triumphant Records. The album is a pop punk explosion done the UK way! My favorite track on Sleep Alone would be the last one - "Nosebleed", it is so powerful and has some great lyrics. All songs on Sleep Alone are catchy and fun but seem to have that Hot Damn touch which makes them somehow serious and I enjoy that a lot. Personally, I think that the album is a grower...I like it more and more with every listen and find something new about every song.
"My Life In Your Eyes" is a track that deserves attention too. It has that fun part but it also catches Hot Damn at their best in the middle of the song. Great stuff.

Overall Sleep Alone is fantastic record from one of the UK finest new bands. Hot Damn is a band that we need to keep an eye on, the potential is great.
