Life is good, especially after 10 days spent in the mountains. Camping, hiking, and a cute small spa hotel experience, followed by a festival, felt so rejuvenating to my increasingly stressed mind. So, here I am - back with a healthy amount of newfound energy and inspired to share more new music.
The first item on my to-do list is this lush-meets-groovy remix crafted by Tour-Maubourg. What makes the feature even more special is the fact that the original was created by our label mate and my personal friend Joris AKA Alexander IV, and the talented Ursula Rucker.
"Now, Pause..." was part of his Alchemist record released earlier this year. Tour Maubourg managed to keep Ursula's spoken-word performance at the heart of the track while adding warm chords, rolling bass, and fluid jazz-house rhythms. The remix transforms the original's reflective mood into an elegant, dancefloor-ready groove without losing its sense of space or emotional weight.
Ready for some jazz house dance moves? I certainly am.
