I can confidently say Amal Zenab’s latest release, "only if" will be one of the sexiest tracks you hear this week, thanks to its sultry vocals and vivid, imaginative songwriting.
My first encounter with this talented singer-songwriter was through the track "flowing thru", and since then I've been hooked on her alternative brand of r&b. What makes "only if" such a standout in her catalog is the contrast we're welcome to - even though this does have an uplifting and soothing feel, thematically she dives into anxious attachment and a yearning for intimacy. The latter we pick up on through her tender vocal inflections and the subtle vulnerability woven into her lyricism. This is all wrapped in warm and sensual production that perfectly complements Amal's intimate vocals.
