Hard browsing in the emo/indie section of bandcamp finally paid off! I was about to give up when I stumbled upon Enjoyment Records - an independent UK record label. First, my attention was drawn by Lions and another song of theirs in yet, another compilation/split. Then, few more clicks and I found the 'holy grail".

Six bands cover Blink 182 songs. Lions, Invalids, Tir Asleen, Dads, Slingshot Dakota, and We'll Die Smiling turn these originals into peculiar, catchy covers.

With "Man Overboard" the emo/Indie style has been smoothly blended with the easily recognizable punk-pop mark of Blink 182. On the other side are We'll Die Smiling who have done some serious tuning of "Dammit". The melody is slowed-down, the stress is on the vocals which are very emotive making the song more mature, stripping it down from the casual punk-teenage sound it originally had.

"Stay Together for the Kids" sounds very different not only cause of the style Slingshot Dakota play but also because of the female vocals. The song is slower, more mellow, a different kind of sadness can be felt.

As for the other three covers, I leave them to you to decide. Listen to I Guess This Is Growing Up Volume 1 here. The compilation is free to download and if you do not have the financial possibility to contribute please feel free to show your appreciation by sharing the bands profiles/liking the record's label page etc. , anything to show them you like this compilation. Thanks.
