Curiously gloomy and fascinatingly unsettling, London quartet YOU's debut single "In Halves" is a tormenting, dark fairytale. Trapped somewhere between something undeniably beautiful and something quite disturbing, it's a wonderfully complex listen.
Lead by a disconcerting rocking piano-line, "In Halves" weaves a disconcerting spell under the hypnotic wing of Anna Waldmann's ghostly soprano. Ebbing and flowing in a fluent manner, "In Halves" gets even stranger when you start listening to the lyrics, but they realistically just add to the song's moody charm.
