Butch Vega’s music explores the gamut of sounds that reflect the two distinct cities he calls home: it’s dirty South hip-hop, the hard, boastful and playful flavor of Atlanta where he grew up, and the melodic flows of Bogota, Colombia where he was born — most often it’s a fusion of both. It represents the exploration of extremities and distance, the places we’d like to fit in and call home, the challenge of finding yourself somewhere in the middle and seeking balance as you come of age along both. It's not Latin hip-hop - it's rap with a little bit of a Latin flavor, it's the blending of lives and cultures, the new age of music for people who thrive alone both.
