Lausanne-based Swiss songwriter and producer Iya Ko released his first soulful and housy EP, Peintures Sonores, at the age of 18. After releasing the afro-house banger "Yallah" on the mineral records IDEAL RULES house compilation, a first EP with his band The Guilty Pleasures and live performances at the Montreux Jazz Festival, he comes back today with a second project with an evocative name: Electric Groove & Nocturnal Romance. It features 8 self-produced electronic tracks self-produced electronic tracks mixing jazz, house, dance music and French soul. Filled with sensuality, these tracks deal with the theme of romance, which he describes as an "addictive illusion, fed by intoxicating fantasies and inescapable disappointments". Three elegant videos co-directed by the artist accompany the release and depict his taste for dreaminess and symbols. Spiritual, bouncy and liberating, this futuristic EP plays with love frustrations and melancholy by bringing groove and lightness.
