Being from a small island inspires even bigger dreams and aspirations. Originating from Dominica, Navy has been performing and singing for as long as she can remember. She’d wake up early in the mornings to watch VH1, many of those acts would later inspire her own craft. Navy’s influences are as wide-ranging and as eclectic as her sound, to no surprise. Navy has always looked to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Beenie Man, Shabba Ranks, Patti Labelle, Oasis, Missy Elliott, Paramore and Tanya Stephens. Navy’s also a part of music collective @TasteofPluto ( IG - tasteofplutopbw ), where they fuse a variety of genres from reggae, hip-hop, R&B, funk and dub.
