Heralding from the shire, Richard Cejer was, from an early age, driven by music, thanks to a combination of long euro road trips and his parent's eclectic car mixtapes. With twanging guitars and pristine melodic flows, Richard, currently based in the Netherlands, creates experiences that range from desperate woe to complete joy, yet, while maintaining a variety of genre, based around his rootsy core. Richard has spent the last few years composing a massive back catalogue of material. Since releasing singles in 2019 (Woman and Y Died), Richard has devoted his time during the pandemic to working the studio and he is set to release a collection of singles of varying genres in the coming year. You can draw comparisons to him from artists such as John Mayer, Jake Bugg, Paolo Nutini and Tom Misch. He has played in a variety of prestigious venues around his native UK and the Netherlands, such as Paradiso, Tivoli and Oosterpoort and had a successful show at the showcase festival MENT, being named as “the best act of the day” by Slovenian magazine Sigic. Richard has also received consistent support from heavy hitting institutions, such as the BBC, 3voor12 and de Grote Prijs van Nederland.
