Bård Berg's gorgeous new release, "Welhavens Gate" serves as a smooth entry point to his upcoming body of work Linje 18 - an elegant jazz fusion experience taking its title from one of Oslo's tram lines.
The talented drummer and producer has established himself as one of the most exciting names in the Norwegian electronic and jazz scene, and this is bound to be further cemented with his new EP. "Welhavens Gate" is characterized by its sophisticated yet unconventional charm as Bård acquaints us with a refreshing take on nu jazz. Trumpets flutter across the mix like falling Autumn leaves while the drums offer a vibrant groove to keep listeners in high spirits. "Each track is named after a stop along tram line 18 in Oslo, turning everyday transit into a cohesive sonic journey through my hometown," shares Bård Berg.
