Barrell Jones' compelling new release with Nubya Garcia, "The Bredrins," is the kind of listening experience that lets you move and groove while floating off into space.

South East London DJ, drummer, producer, and Barrell Jones steps into the spotlight with his debut release as a solo artist with this release. When you look deeper, a lot is going on in "The Bredrins" - Latin American and West African rhythms collide with dub-esque bass lines, AND airy, shimmering synths embellish the track with an electronic influence. This is all balanced out with the soulful allure of the sax from long-time collaborator and jazz trailblazer Nubya Garcia, and the sparkling presence of harps across the mix.

"I wanted people to catch a vibe with this one, something you can move to that shows my love for dance music, Latin American and West African rhythms. These elements are integral to the sonic identity of this track and everything that’s coming next. It’s a tune about friendship, shared history, and the people who shape you," shares Barrell Jones.
