I firmly believe Birthday in Texas is on track to become massive with their fascinating brand of electronica - it really feels like a tasteful mixture of the early works of Mount Kimbie and Fred again...
We initially discovered the Glasgow-based duo from their first release, "No Bad Trips". Now, they've just unveiled their cohesive, debut body of work via Seb Wildblood's imprint, all my thoughts. One of the standout moments is "True Love", a track that hits the sweet spot between soft and invigorating thanks to the contrasting elements. The drums are pacey and possess a "rumble" groove that offers momentum, while the vocal sample and piano layers inject a large amount of emotion into the mix. This ultimately creates an experience that leans towards alt-electronica, yet is so incredibly easy to fall in love with for almost anyone.
