I vividly remember walking the first time I saw the name Bulgarian Cartrader. It was last year in March and I was walking along Warschauer Straße when I saw a poster about a show and that name.

As a Bulgarian myself I was a bit caught a bit off guard as this doesn't really happen every day, but naturally, I checked if that artist was actually from the motherland. Sadly, couldn't make it to that show, but here we are today.

Daniel is one of those super creative and talented people and a lot has happened since that day I saw his name. He went on being supported by KEXP and playing a bunch of sold-out shows in Europe, plus winning this year's Music Moves Europe award during this year's ESNS in January (ironic, isn't it?).

Written by Daniel in his Berlin studio and mixed by Stephen Sedgwick, known for his work with acclaimed artists such as Damon Albarn, Lana Del Rey, and Benjamin Clementine, the track seamlessly blends eccentric, captivating vocals reminiscent of Prince with a bassline-driven, minimalistic, and repetitive structure. While I'm not the biggest indie head out there, what I loved the most about the track (and his music in general) is the out-of-the-box energy that instantly kicks in once you hit that play button.

"Soul Is The Price" is the kind of track you need to play when in dire need of a hypeman.
